Shirley Windmill

From one windmill to another, we follow the trail to suburbia, Croydon (Shirley), to find a sturdy brick windmill, built to make flour, still standing and reminding us of our not too distant industrial past.  It’s hard to imagine that less than 150 years ago, our flour was being ground in these simple factories.  Friends of Shirley Windmill and its visitors help to share its beauty, its workings and its importance for the local community…
