Clapham South Deep Shelter

A shelter was built underneath Clapham South tube station during the Second World War to protect civilians from aerial bombardment.  What was life like deep underground and what happened to the deep level tunnel after the war?

It is open to the public as part of London Transport Museum’s ‘Hidden London’ program.
